To be able to play a certain song on your own, you must start by finding the track’s chords and tablatures. Capo is a powerful macOS application designed from the ground up to help you analyze the melody, generate the information necessary to render the song, and allow you to adjust the track’s speed and pitch.
Working with Capo is extremely easy because all you have to do is drag and drop the track you want to analyze on top of its main window. The application will open a separate analyzer panel where you can view the track’s album cover and other basic information: the song and artist name.
In the center area, Capo generates a spectogram for the track, provides an area where you can test various chords, while on the bottom displays the notes for the current song. Of course, the app also includes basic playback tools: play and pause buttons, a volume bar, and skip back or forward buttons.
To help you keep track of the beat, Capo comes with a metronome that can be enabled with the press of a button. You can apply voice reduction, equalizer or mono effects, in order to be able to follow the song easier.
Last but not least you can decide for which instrument you want Capo to generate the notes: guitar, 4 / 5 / 6 string bass, mandolin, ukelele, or 5 string banjo. The best part is that you can share your Capo projects by email, or by using any other transfer method, with anyone you like.
Capo is the tool you should have installed on your Mac if you just started learning how to play an instrument and you still need directions and help when identifying chords.
Analyzing your own composition with the help of Capo can help you eliminate the time wasted transcribing songs, or rehearsal time spent trying to find the best speed and pitch for your song.
What's new in Capo 4.3.9:
- Bug Fixes:
- On macOS Sonoma, Capo no longer experiences a considerable degradation in display refresh rate (a.k.a. a "choppy", or "jittery" playhead) as playback continues.
