New software engineering positions are open at Apple, fueling speculation that the company might be updating the productivity suite this year.

Apple has been posting job adverts for its iWork team for the past few weeks, the latest of which is a QA engineer. There are actually three open spots for this particular role.

In addition to the three QA software engineers, Apple is also seeking a HiDPI Image Specialist (to ensure Retina Display support), a Production Specialist, a Technical Production Ninja, a Verification Engineer, and a Visual Motion Designer.

One such job advert reads, “The iWork team is looking for a software QA engineer to work on the next generation of Desktop, Mobile and Web application/services.”

For this position Apple needs someone with proven bug detection and regression skills, familiarity with the SQA requirements and demands of a full product cycle, etc.
