Vodafone is preparing to roll out a “4G” (LTE) software update to iPhone and iPad owners adding faster wireless Internet speeds. The update will gradually roll out to users, Vodafone said.

In a brief blog entry, the wireless operator confirms that “4G is coming to Vodafone, and when it does… whooshka!”

iPhone 5 owners, along with iPad users, already have 4G support, but not without the update from Vodafone.

“If you’re using an iPhone 5, iPad mini or iPad with Retina Display, you’ve already got yourself a 4G-ready device. On Saturday, we began turning on their 4G capability,” says the company.

Vodafone tells customers to stay calm until the update rolls out to them. Some users will get it earlier than others, but everyone will be on par in June.

“This tiny update will roll out gradually over the next few weeks, so don’t worry if you haven’t seen it yet. Just sit back, relax, and once June rolls around…you’ll be ready to fly!” says Vodafone.
