AT&T PTT app currently supports iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S devices

US Carrier AT&T has launched an “Enhanced Push-To-Talk” solution for Enterprise customers wielding iPhones offering fast call setup times and low latency.

Currently supported on iPhone 5 and iPhone 4S devices using AT&T’s network, Enhanced PTT is described as “the premier enterprise-grade carrier push-to-talk solution for large or small organizations, with superior performance, features and reliability.”

The software makes use of the latest Voice over IP (VoIP) technology “to deliver one-to-one or group calls over the AT&T 3G or 4G networks or on compatible WiFi networks,” reads the description.

Customers will be able to enjoy fast call setup times and low latency, as well as some advanced PTT features, such as real-time presence, Instant Personal Alerts, and free/busy status.

A Corporate Admin Tool can be used for management of users and groups, says the carrier. The PTT app cannot be used with international roaming.
