Apple has been steadily improving its shipping quote for the new iPhone 6 for the past three months, and it can now guarantee that your device – if ordered online – can reach its destination in under three days, or even 24 hours, if you’re lucky.
The US and EU online stores now list a 1 to 3-day time frame for shipping the iPhone 6 in 16GB and 64GB configurations. This is the first time customers can get two separate configurations in such a narrow timeframe. The 128GB model, of which Apple seemingly builds the least amount of units, remains the hardest to obtain: 3-5 business days for the Plus and 5-7 business days for the 4.7-inch model.
This tells us that demand for the 128GB iPhone 6 is not as high as the craving for a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus. Which makes sense, considering that the people who choose to have this much storage have “big” plans with their newly-acquired handset (games, movies, etc.).
A word of advice: if you’re planning to put one under the Christmas tree, don’t procrastinate. There’s a chance many people will try to order one at the eleventh hour, which means those shipping times could slip back to where they were last week.
