Update also fixes issue that interrupted playback while the screen was locked

Sony has updated its Music Unlimited iOS app to support the iPhone 5 display, as well as to add other enhancements and tweaks.

Music Unlimited lets you enjoy all your favorite songs, playlists, and channels by streaming them directly from your iPhone and iPod touch onto other devices.

Version 1.2.4 has been fully optimized for the iPhone 5’s Retina display. It still boggles my mind how big companies fail to add native iPhone 5 support to their official apps for months at a time, even years in some cases.

Sony Unlimited also adds Portuguese language support and fixes an issue that interrupted playback with the screen locked.

The app requires iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad. It works with iOS 4.3 or later.

Not surprisingly, Sony’s Music Unlimited is not an iPad-native app.
