Same as iPad 2 for that matter but it’s no reason to smear

Apple’s revision to the iPhone 4, the iPhone 4S was believed to pack twice the amount of random access memory compared to the predecessor. However, recent reports indicate the RAM is still capped at 512MB.

According to MacRumors, several sources in a position to know have confirmed that the dual-core A5 chip found in the iPhone 4S does not boast more RAM than the version for iPad 2.

Last week, a person from Epic Games (the creators of Infinity Blade for iPhone), said: "I'm still shocked that, with the iPhone 4S, I'm literally running around with a 1080p video camera in my pocket, with an eight megapixel camera, 64GB of hard drive space and an A5 chip with 512MB of memory. This is a really powerful computer, right?”

AppVV seems to corroborate those claims, citing a forum administrator as saying the same thing about the amount of RAM packed inside the A5 SoC.
