14 DAY TRIAL // Jailbreak developer Stefan Esser (also known as i0n1c on Twitter) has revealed that evasi0n can still jailbreak iOS 7.0.5, but with a bit of extra hacking on the side.
Esser communicates to his 112K followers on Twitter, “To make evasi0n work with iOS 7.0.5 one way is to patch 11B511 into 11B601 in the binary. […] the patch are not hex bytes but simple ASCII iOS build numbers that need to be fixed.”
In other words, expect a new version of evasi0n to drop soon with support for iOS 7.0.5.
iOS 7.1 is another matter altogether. When Apple rolls out the next major iOS update, evasi0n will no longer work. At that point, the evad3rs will probably focus on finding exploits for the upcoming iOS 8 jailbreak, rather than patch iOS 7.1. Time will tell.
