TechRax doesn’t seem to be running out of spare time/cash

Destroying his gazzillionth iPhone, TechRax has published a new video showing how molten aluminum affects an iPhone 6 when the two come into contact.

TechRax’s videos are about as insightful as a weather channel in the desert, meaning 99.99% of the time you know what’s going to happen. The guy clearly has no sympathy for expensive Apple gear, but I’ll admit that at least some of his videos hold some valuable information regarding the limits of an iDevice.

In this new episode, he risks getting the molten metal onto his hands, and you can actually hear the battery exploding inside the chassis. The smoke resulted from the exploding battery is highly toxic too, but the protagonist doesn’t make that clear to his viewers. In fact, I suspect he’s not even aware of the dangers of inhaling that smoke because he doesn’t seem to be very concerned whenever his iPhones explode like this.

I’ll insert the usual don’t-do-this-at-home on behalf of the YouTuber. Getting molten aluminum on your fingers can spell permanent damage (and I mean real damage).

So far the 3-minute video has raked in about half a million views, which isn’t too shabby considering that the iPhone 6 isn’t exactly a novelty anymore these days. Also, at the pace at which this guy destroys iPhones, Apple should give him a job and hand him all the broken returned units so that he can get it out of his system for good.
