14 DAY TRIAL // A Support document regarding My Photo Stream and iCloud Photo Sharing limits seemingly flew past everyone’s radar for a couple of months.
Updated on September 18, Apple’s KB article HT4858 reveals that you can now use Photo Stream to upload as many as 25,000 photos per month. Previously, the cap was 10,000.
Established based on “anticipated upload patterns,” the new My Photo Stream upload limits are 1,000 photos per hour, 10,000 per day, and a whopping 25,000 per month. Who takes 25,000 pics per month?!
Apparently, some people do, because Apple then has the following thing to say:
“If you exceed one of these limits, your uploads to My Photo Stream will be paused temporarily and you may see a notification message on your device. Your uploads will resume automatically after you no longer exceed one of the limits, such as in the following hour or on the following day.”
As far as iCloud Photo Sharing limits are concerned, the maximum combined number of photos and videos you can share per hour is 1,000, while the monthly limit is 10,000 files. Additional limits for shared photo stream usage are also mentioned in the aforementioned support document.
