App gets optimized for use with the VoiceOver accessibility feature in iOS

Yahoo today is offering an updated Mail client app for its iOS customer base, featuring some accessibility improvements for the blind and / or the visually impaired, as well as some fixes.

Yahoo Mail 2.0.5 is the newest version of Yahoo’s popular email client app for iPhone and iPad users. The update doesn’t bring all that much for most users, but for those with visual impediments it can turn out to be a life saver.

According to the release notes, Yahoo Mail 2.0.5 has been “optimized for use with the VoiceOver accessibility feature in iOS.” The rest of the update is made up of “bug fixes and performance improvements.”

iOS customers can download Yahoo Mail 2.0.5 on any iDevice that runs iOS 6.0 (or newer). The app is free, and it’s localized in several different languages, including English, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Malay, Portuguese, Romanian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Vietnamese, and others.
