Electronic Arts’ Maxis studio announced on Monday that The Sims 4 is currently in development for Mac and PC. The life simulation game is slated for release in 2014.

Maxis has already released a few details about the game, allowing Mac gamers to prepare mentally for what’s to come.

The Sims 4 players will get “a deeper connection with the most expressive, surprising and charming Sims ever in this single-player offline experience,” says the studio.

The game will encourage players to customize their world with new tools that are more intuitive, therefore easier to use, says Maxis. Gamers will also be able to share their creativity with friends and fans through a social channel.

EA and Maxis encourage The Sims fans to visit www.thesims.com/thesims4 to stay up to date with the latest information about the development of the game.
