Users report being unable to open the app after updating

Twitter this week rolled out a fresh update for iOS customers, promising to deliver “various bug fixes,” but it seems that the new release came with a bug of its own.

Customers are reporting on iTunes that Twitter 6.1.1 suffers from a bug that prevents the app from launching. It isn’t clear if this problem affects everyone or only certain device configurations. However, it is becoming increasingly apparent that Twitter needs to out another patch soon.

New features in the 6.1 release include the ability to click on a Tweet and reply with a photo by selecting the gallery icon, easy mentions when you Tweet a photo, improvements to the photo editing tool, login verification improvements, and more.

If you managed to grab 6.1 in time, stay there and enjoy the new features but avoid updating to 6.1.1, or you might end up not being able to use the app anymore.

If you’ve already installed the latest version, unfortunately there’s no way of downgrading, except maybe if you have the old IPA in your iTunes library (or in a recent backup).
