Update fixes various issues, adds support for new Brother scanners

Hamrick Software has released a new version of its scanning utility for Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux computers, VueScan 9.4.28. The update addresses numerous reported issues and adds support for new devices, as well as some new features.

Posted earlier today and available for free to all existing users, VueScan 9.4.28 fixes problems with A3 formats on some Brother scanners, with Epson DS-510 devices, and with some HP duplex scanners.

It adds support for document feeder on Epson G85/G85xi, RGB analog gain on Epson scanners, and a number of Brother scanners, including DCP-1510, DCP-1810, DCP-J100, DCP-J105, DCP-J112, DCP-J132N, DCP-J132W, DCP-J152N, DCP-J152W, DCP-J172W, DCP-J200, MFC-7365DN, and MFC-J245.

Newly supported HP scanners include LaserJet M125rnw, LaserJet M126nw, LaserJet M127fn, LaserJet M127fp, LaserJet M127fw, LaserJet M128fn, LaserJet M128fp, LaserJet M128fw, LaserJet M176n, LaserJet M177fw, LaserJet M476dn, LaserJet M476dw, LaserJet M476nw, Officejet 2620, Officejet Pro 8610, Officejet Pro 8620, and Officejet Pro 8630. Finally, the ability to do a manual focus control on Epson V700 has been removed as it failed to work.

The software supports thousands of scanner models on all platforms and requires modest hardware specs. Users can download a free trial version to try VueScan before buying the full application.
