Felix Paul Kühne, lead developer on VLC for Mac and iOS, has just announced on Twitter that VLC 2.1.4 is rolling out soon.

Don’t get too excited just yet. There’s no download available, and Kühne doesn’t provide an exact release date, but if history is any indication, VLC 2.1.4 should be rolling out in a matter of hours. The same goes for VLC 2.0.10, a new version for users of older hardware with OS X Leopard installed.

Here’s Kühne making the somewhat official introductions on Twitter:

“Preparing VLC 2.1.4 for modern Macs and 2.0.10 for Intel32 & PowerPC 10.5 users.” I’ll keep my ear to the ground to let you know exactly when these two builds roll out.

Right now, Mac users can download VLC Player versions 2.1.3 for new Macs and new OS X versions and 2.0.8 for Power PC and old OS X versions. The same link will be good for downloading VLC 2.1.4 and VLC 2.0.10 shortly.
