Parallels today released an updated version of the company’s desktop virtualization software which addresses issues with the Transporter Agent, Coherence mode, the OS X login screen, compatibility with MacBook Pro computers, and more.

According to the software company, “Parallels Desktop 9 for Mac (build 9.0.24229) addresses overall stability and performance issues, and includes the following fixes.”

The changelog mentions an issue with Parallels Transporter Agent not launching on Windows computers, problems with Coherence view mode for Windows 8.1 Update 1 virtual machines, and an issue with jumping to the OS X login screen in a Windows VM on a MacBook Pro with Retina display, all of which are addressed.

The update further resolves issues with time synchronization after resuming an OS X virtual machine, automatic resolution while resizing an OS X Mavericks virtual machine window, OS X virtual machines crashing with more than 64MB of allocated video memory, and Parallels Tools features for Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard) virtual machines.

The requirements remain in place: Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor; at least 2 GB of RAM (4 GB or more recommended); 700 MB of disk space on the boot volume (Macintosh HD) for Parallels Desktop installation; over 15 GB of disk space for each virtual machine; Internet for select features. Download Parallels Desktop 9.0.24229 and try it for free for 14 days or update your existing version for free.
