Last week, the iPhone Dev Team confirmed in a blog post that Monday, December 20th, 2011 would see the release of an updated Ultrasn0w unlock tool via Cydia, supporting basebands that end at 01.59.00.

Among the numerous bullet points included in the latest Dev Team update, the hackers mentioned a certain “ultrasn0w compatability update (i.e. same baseband requirements) for 5.0.1.” The blog post said this updated version of Ultrasn0w “will be available on Cydia Monday”.

The tool will be released on Cydia (the jailbreak alternative to the iTunes App Store) some time today.

To be noted that Ultrasn0w 1.2.5 will only bring compatibility with iOS 5.0.1 to unlock the current lockable basebands. According to CydiaHelp, the supported basebands for ultrasn0w 1.2.5 unlock on iOS 5.0.1 will be: 01.59.00; 04.26.08; 05.11.07; 05.12.01; 05.13.04; and 06.15.00.
