Twitter Inc. has released an updated version of its Mac client, adding Notification Center integration and half a dozen fixes for several errors.

Users will now receive notifications when someone mentions them or when they receive a Direct Message, thanks to full integration with Notification Center. The setting is configurable from Twitter.app’s preferences pane.

A fix is included for Growl notifications not working in Lion and Mountain Lion, and a bug that prevented un-favoriting tweets is also squashed in this release.

Other fixed issues include: missing account switcher in composer; error message when posting a tweet with a pasted image; enlarged avatar when dragging a tweet into an email; and various crashing bugs.

Twitter for Mac requires OS X 10.6.6 Snow Leopard or later.
