Mac users who aren’t satisfied with their mouse or trackpad behavior are encouraged to give SmoothMouse a try. As our forum users point out, the tool can do wonders for hackintosh users as well.

A simple System Preferences pane that lets you adjust the mouse and trackpad acceleration and velocity, SmoothMouse does just what its name implies - smoothens out the movement of your cursor.

The tool doesn’t require your attention once the initial set up is done and, in version 1.0.3 (released today), performance and compatibility with some applications and games have been improved. The tool also gets a new icon, and includes a memory leak fix.

You only need Mac OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to run the thing, and it’s completely free to download and use. The folks at SmoothMouse team will appreciate any donations.
