Released on April 10 with much fanfare, Ubisoft’s skill-based bike racer “Trials Frontier” is now the top free download on the iTunes App Store. The game requires only iOS 6.1, so everyone can get in on this racket.

According to its creators, you get to “Race your motorcycle through a world of adventure, crazy characters, and unfairly addictive tracks!”

Ubisoft says the game lets you explore a vast world while mastering physics-based tracks, challenging others for their best times. Trials Frontier is quite a looker, and the gameplay is not too shabby either. Customer reviews are highly positive as well, though some are complaining that “you don’t earn gems anywhere nearly as quickly as you can spend them.”

The software requirement is iOS 6.1. Hardware-wise, you need iPhone 4S and higher, iPod touch 5th gen, iPad 2, and iPad mini or higher. The French gaming studio says, “For the best possible Trials Frontier experience, use these recommended devices.”

Trials Frontier is localized in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. The game seems littered with in-app purchases, so be careful with it around the kids. Some transactions can go as high as $99.99 (€72).
