“When you find a place to visit using the Apple Maps app, TomTom can guide you there”

Navigation services provider TomTom has updated its entire range of iOS applications to work with the latest iPhone and iOS, as well as to offer tight integration with Apple’s own mapping service.

TomTom now works with iOS 6, which means you can update to version 1.12 with confidence, as the apps have been “fully tested with iOS 6” according to the developers. TomTom apps also display full-screen on the iPhone 5 now.

What’s a TomTom update without some new maps? “…because roads are constantly changing, on average 15% of roads change every year, your TomTom app update comes with the latest and most up-to-date map,” says TomTom.

Even more interesting is TomTom’s decision to integrate its service with Apple’s ill-fated iOS Maps.

“When you find a place to visit using the Apple Maps app, TomTom can guide you there,” says the company.

Users simply select TomTom as the routing service and the app will take it from there.

Customers are being warned not to delete the app before installing the update as they’ll lose all their settings and saved locations.

“To avoid this we recommend that you update via the iTunes app on your computer,” says the company.
