The one Macintosh model that everyone loves to hate

The Mac Pro can’t catch a break. Besides being expensive, the machine has often attracted waves of hatred from naysayers and Apple fans alike for some particularities, such as upgradeability and compatibility. But it’s all because of the price, let’s face it.

The thing has always cost a fortune, regardless of what it has looked like or how it's worked. Were it in the $500 / €500 range, everyone would have one at home and most people would probably be running Windows on it. However, one person has just about used up every scenario involving their $2,999 / €2,999 workstation.

It isn’t clear where this picture comes from or when it was taken, but it’s worth looking at as a perfect example of Apple hate. Not that it’s not funny. It’s hilarious. But still, check out these comments.

“Wow, a mac is actually useful for something after all,” or “$3000 well spent,” or “rich kid probs,” or the infamous “You're holding it wrong.” Another person remarked, “You need the new Mac Pro as a garbage can.”

Not that I can afford one myself, but has the thought of it being plain broken crossed anyone's mind?

Indeed the item pictured here is the old-generation Mac Pro that I personally find to be a design masterpiece. The new one is so and so if you ask me, but I’m no expert. What I do know is that it does look like a trash can. So much so that I heard passers-by actually mistaking it for one and throwing used tissues in the air vent.
