Bare Bones Software is proud to announce the release of TextWrangler 4.0, a major new version of the company’s word processor for Mac OS X.

TextWrangler 4 is accompanied by a mile-long change-log which documents many new features, enhancements and tweaks - more than the regular user would like to know about.

Which is why we’ll make a long story short and name only some of the key additions, which include new editing and disk browser window layouts, seamless preservation of open documents on relaunch, switchable syntax color schemes, completely re-written Preferences and Setup windows, support for Verilog and VHDL, and a streamlined filtering and automation interface.

There is also a cool and modeless “Open File by Name” feature which offers some efficient search-as-you-type results. For the rest of the enhancements delivered in TextWrangler 4, visit the official release notes here.
