Talkatone, the free app which offers unlimited free calls and texts over Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, now includes the ability to disable receiving texts, as well as other cool things, in version 2.2.2.

Talkatone is a free app for phone calls and SMS texting with Google Voice. It lets you make calls and send texts without using cell minutes.

In version 2.2.2, users can now preview small text snippets in Recent Messages, as well as disable receiving SMSes. A fix for missing Contact pictures is also included, alongside other miscellaneous bug fixes.

For iPad users, the developer has some reassuring words regarding a recently reported bug. The message states loud and clear that iPad users need to stay put until a patch is made available.

Here’s their message in full, followed by the usual download link for your app.

“iPad users: we're fixing an issue in Talkatone v2.2 (released on Monday, May 6) where recent calls and messages get cleared at midnight. Wait to upgrade until we've pushed this fix in the next few days. If you've already upgraded and are experiencing this problem, restarting the app will show your calls and messages. Note that this is not a problem on the iPhone or iPod.”
