14 DAY TRIAL // Star Walk is arguably one of the best stargazing apps out there and, with version 6.2 out in the App Store, it’s even better. It packs a cool calendar with alerts for important celestial events, and can now track comets.
Star Walk version 6.2 brings the Ultimate Calendar - “it will tell you what’s up and even set an alarm,” says Vito Technology, the developer.
Comet tracking is another delight in this update. Star Walk has been rigged to track Halley, ISON, PANSTARRS, and Lemmon.
It also displays iridium flares now, and includes a toggle to turn constellation artwork On or Off. The app itself has been reduced in size, which means fewer megabytes to download.
Star Walk is compatible with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation) and iPad, and requires iOS 4.3 or later.
