Update refines the UI and improves compatibility with OS X Mavericks

Microsoft today announced Skype 6.14 for Mac OS X featuring some user interface tweaks to refine the UI and to improve compatibility with OS X Mavericks.

Users are being reminded that they can turn off all notifications, but also that sometimes it can be easy to forget you’ve flipped on the Do Not Disturb switch. Which is why the new Skype adds a warning to the Notifications preference pane to nag you why you aren’t getting notifications.

Now if you choose “Make Text Bigger” from the View menu you’ll be able to see the text adjusted accordingly in your conversations. Some nasty bugs have been addressed as well, including one affecting sound output from Skype to Bluetooth headphones and speakers.

“We hope you enjoy this update. Download Skype for Mac 6.14 today, give it a try, and let us know what you think,” says Microsoft. Well, you heard them.

Update: looks like Microsoft has changed its mind. We'll be back with details and a download link when / if the update is rolled out.
