14 DAY TRIAL // Skype 4.0 is out in the App Store for iPhone and iPad featuring new abilities, improved stability and accessibility, as well as updated contacts and messages for iPad users in particular.
The new Skype works on iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad and iPod touch, according to the developers. Skype 4.0 requires iOS version 4.3 or above, the company said.
With that out of the way, the release notes mention new abilities like moving your own video preview, auto-restart if the app unexpectedly shuts down, improved accessibility and stability, an updated design for contacts and messages (iPad-only), a new sign-in screen, some relatively minor UI improvements here and there, and some undocumented bug fixes.
