Maintenance tool OnyX 2.8.6 is now available featuring an all-new preference pane, new options to set Aqua/Graphite appearance on your Mac, and the usual bag of fixes and tweaks.

Unlike other utilities that offer pretty much the same set of features in exchange for cash, OnyX is one of those awesome pieces of free software that do it all and ask for nothing in return. Well, it’s donationware, but at least it doesn’t force you to pay for its features, that much is certain.

In its latest build, OnyX offers a brand new preferences pane complete with the option to set an Aqua/Graphite appearance. Deleting the Cache has been improved, and the same goes for deleting obsolete items and the disk verification routine.

A new option to turn on/turn off App Nap has been added, some bugs are corrected (but Titanium fails to say exactly which ones), and there’s a new version of sqlite3 embedded in the software as well. Newcomers will benefit from a greatly improved Help menu, but even veteran users can get stuck and need assistance, so it’s there for everyone.

Download OnyX for OS X versions from Jaguar to Mavericks at the supplied link and enjoy!
