Edovia Inc. has announced the ceremonious release of Screens VNC 3.0 for Mac OS X, its retooled remote computing app that lets you access computers from anywhere.

“We're happy to offer this new 3.0 version for free! There are a lot of new features and improvements that you'll enjoy,” says Edovia and proceeds to enumerate some of the key features implemented in this big update.

The developer says it has completely re-written the app and slapped a brand new user interface on top. There’s an all-new menu bar icon to access recent and discovered items, a recent connections module, the new ability to export connections as files, new key mappings for system keyboard shortcuts, and a much-improved VNC/Screen Sharing engine.

Edovia says the software is faster than ever and that there are “many other small details that we think will make you smile.” The developer encourages users to leave a positive review in the Mac App Store if the update impresses them.

Users who download Screens VNC for the first time are told to note that the software will not receive any sound from the computer that is being controlled remotely. The app calls for OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard or later.
