Russian newspaper Izvestia claims to have learned that Apple has filed for an “iWatch” trademark in the country, reigniting rumors that Apple is on track to make a foray into wearable computing.

Per AppleInsider.ru (Google-translated), “Tonight newspaper ‘Izvestia’ gave a sensational news: the company Apple has filed with Rospatent application for registration of the trademark “iWatch.’”

The paper said the claim was made in two classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services, one of which includes computers.

Apple has been rumored for quite some time to launch a wearable computer in the form of a smart-watch.

Bloomberg reported a while ago that the company was working with a team of 100 technicians to create the product, while several job listings posted by the company have also hinted at its development.
