Qantas is the first airline to pilot a wireless inflight entertainment technology on one of its B767-300 aircraft, that has been equipped with no less than 254 iPad 2 tablets.

Passengers will have access to over 200 hours of on-demand content (video and audio). The content is not stored on the iPads themselves, but streamed via five Wi-Fi access points mounted carefully throughout the plane.

The iPads are located in every passenger’s seat pocket stored in a protective case. A built-in stand allows them to position the tablet for optimal viewing. There’s also an integrated headphone adapter that will enable passengers to connect their headphones.

“If you are flying on the B767-300 with registration VH-OGH, why not try it out and tell us what you think,” says Quantas. “Your feedback will help us decide whether Q Streaming should be introduced to the rest of our fleet.”
