14 DAY TRIAL // eBay-owned PayPal has released a major new version of its iOS client application which allows you to pay with your phone in restaurants and shops, as well as to benefit from special offers.
“It's our biggest update yet,” says the company. PayPal 5.0.1 can be used to pay with your phone in local shops, restaurants, and more, according to the release notes. You can also use it to get special offers.
These new features are accompanied by a “bold new design” (read iOS 7 flatness), and includes bug fixes and other tweaks. Last but not least, PayPal 5.0.1 also offers accessibility features for screen readers.
The PayPal app works with iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPhone 5, iPod touch (3rd generation), iPod touch (4th generation), iPod touch (5th generation), and iPad, and requires iOS 6.0 or later.
