“A powerful new way to organize and find your files, even documents stored in iCloud”

Apple is making life a lot easier in OS X Mavericks, especially for those of us with a habit of cluttering our desktop. Tags will be a life saver when the new operating system rolls out this fall.

Tags is a brand new feature in OS X 10.9 which helps you keep all your important files at hand, regardless of their location on your hard drive.

If you’ve got photos stored all over the place in different folders, it’s a drag to get them back together by location, time of creation, etc.

With tags, whenever you stumble upon one of those summer vacation shots, just tag them all as such. When the friends come over all you need to do to summon those images is make a single click on the right tag.

It works in iCloud too, and you can tag apps that you use for certain tasks, such as a trio of photo editing programs, or four apps that you need when you do your homework.
