A full week ago, Apple unleashed a near-final build of OS X 10.8.2 to developers, complete with a set of release notes akin to those of finalized updates to the company’s Mac operating system.

With a new beta seeded in the interim and iOS 6 launching today, it’s a good time to remind our readers to prepare their Macs’ software updaters as well.

Noted as a requirement for iOS 6, the latest version of Apple’s mobile OS for iPhone and iPad, OS X 10.8.2 should be released simultaneously, or shortly thereafter.

The software brings numerous new enhancements, tweaks and fixes, as well as new features, such as Facebook integration, a new shared-Reminders function, extended support for Mountain Lion’s new Power Nap feature, and new languages for Dictation.

You’ll notice 10.8.2 via the Mac App Store’s Updates tab, so keep a close eye on it.
