Here’s some good news for athletes using the Nike+ Running app and FuelBand. The free iOS app has been updated with tweaks and new features, while the FuelBand will soon integrate with MyFitnessPal, RunKeeper and Strava.

Nike+ Running version 4.5.3 lets you tap the "plus" icon in Activity to add a run to your log, in case you forgot to track your run. The update adds an Auto-Pause feature which, as you might have already guessed, will automatically pause your runs and resume them when you resume running. These preferences can be tweaked in the settings pane.

As for users of the FuelBand, it will soon team up with fitness industry leaders like MyFitnessPal, RunKeeper, and Strava, allowing over 100 million new users to access “common universal currency to monitor and evaluate” their physical exercises.

According to Nike VP of Digital Sport, Stefan Olander, “The demand for simpler data-powered experiences is soaring, and all-day sensing is more available on mobile and wearable devices than ever before. Nike is committed to broadening the use of NikeFuel through collaborations with industry leaders to create smarter products and services.”
