With everyone now owning an app store in one form or another, NASA is stepping up its game (not that it was competing with anyone) with the launch of apps@NASA, a new service for authorized users that delivers specialized apps for their handheld devices.
As the American space agency explains, “apps@NASA lets NASA authorized users download the latest enabling internal mobile apps created or hosted by the Center for Internal Mobile Applications (CIMA), which is a part of the NASA Enterprise Applications Competency Center (NEACC) in Huntsville, AL.”
No problem there except one of the services (Contacts) uses the Apple OS X Address Book application icon with the NASA logo overlaid on top. If you're a Mac user, it literally jumps at you.
Nice job for a bunch of people getting paid to keep their eyes peeled for new things. In space.
