Junior will offer a full screen browsing experience like no other, Mozilla says

Mozilla is taking its tablet plans to the next level with a new iPad web browser called Junior that will eliminate the address bar, as well as the search bar, making browsing “more fun,” and “more ergonomic.”

Mozilla's Alex Limi describes Safari web browsing on the iPad "a pretty miserable experience.” We wouldn’t go as far as calling it miserable, but it’s not the ideal experience either. Far from it.

Junior, on the other hand, is “an iPad browser that makes browsing more fun, more ergonomic and re-thinks browser user experience from the ground up.”

Mozilla aims to achieve this by removing all the clutter from the user’s display, including the address bar, the search bar, and the tool bar, going with a full-screen layout. Users will still be able to access these vital features from a drop-down menu upon their request.

We’ll have more for you as development continues.
