Paid storage plans revealed, maximum available storage is 50GB

MobileMe users getting transitioned to iCloud today are on track to get Apple’s 20GB iCloud storage plan until June 30, 2012 at no additional charge. iCloud comes with a standard free 5GB of storage that adds up to that.

Apple has confirmed that iCloud users will have three plans to choose from - a free 5GB plan; one for 20GB (plus the free 5GB) at $40 (around 29 EUR) a year, and one for 50GB (plus the free 5GB) that goes for $100 (around 70 EUR).

Described by Apple as a breakthrough set of free cloud services, iCloud has already gone live. Apple customers will require iOS 5 and / or Mac OS X 10.7.2 to use it.

iCloud services include: iTunes in the Cloud; Photo Stream; Documents in the Cloud; App Store and iBookstore purchase history; iCloud Backup; integration with Contacts, Calendar and Mail; Find My iPhone; and Find My Friends.
