Microsoft has released an updated version of the company’s productivity tool, OneNote for iPad, adding an iOS 7-inspired layout, new features, and fixes. The minimum requirement to use the app is IOS 7.0 or newer.

Microsoft OneNote for iPad version 2.2 has been “beautifully redesigned for iOS 7,” according to the Redmond, WA-based software giant. The minimalistic look is best observed in the iconography, as well as in several tool bars.

OneNote now auto-crops and enhances photos of whiteboards and documents. The updated app further includes some assorted bug fixes for unnamed bugs. If your experience with OneNote has been disappointing, give it another shot in this new incarnation and see how it fares.

In related news, Microsoft this week deployed Office for iPad, with individual iOS versions of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel, and the ability to use them as document viewers completely free of charge. Document creation and editing functions are available via in-app purchase. Read all about it in the related links below.

iPad customers can download OneNote for free and use it indefinitely. Supported languages include English, Catalan, Chinese, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish, Turkish, and Ukrainian. As noted above, iOS 6 and lower firmware are not supported.
