14 DAY TRIAL // Measure Map is a cool iOS utility that lets you measure distances, perimeters, and areas with laser-sharp precision using Apple Maps and Google Maps. The software is now free as part of the App of the Day promo.
Featuring an extra zoom level in iOS 6, Measure Map displays map, satellite, hybrid, and terrain with the ability to add, delete intermediate pins, insert between pins, move pins, and get info.
To use the app you just drag the cross-hair, plunk pins in to mark the area you want measured, and Measure Map takes care of the rest. Since the release of version 2.0, a magic button allows you to input points more easily.
Measure Map even takes into account the curvature of the Earth’s surface and can be used areas both small and large, complete with sharing functions.
