Beating the purpose of buying a PSP (or an iPhone with gaming in mind), the iCade Mobile game controller is about to be unveiled at CES 2012. It allows you to play iPhone games the right way - as in without covering the screen with your fingers.

The iCade Mobile couldn’t be any simpler. The gaming pad just connects to your iDevice over Bluetooth allowing you to use physical buttons instead Multi-Touch gestures.

Of course, not all games will be compatible. For now, just a handful of titles offer support for the hardware, but many more will be added in the future.

This accessory should do wonders for titles like Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 which, if you ask this editor, is frustratingly difficult to play using touch-screen controls.

What do you guys think? Does a PSP make more sense that additional iPhone investments to enjoy a decent gaming experience?
