Apple has recently shifted some iPad 2 battery orders from Simplo Technology becomes some of the Li-polymer battery packs it produced had been found to be defective.

According to sources in Taiwan, Apple has gone with Dynapack International Technology to supply the next wave of batteries for iPad 2 tablets.

These industry sources believe that the flawed battery packs suffered from leakage problems.

While the problem would potentially cause a short circuit, the rather stable chemicals adopted by these types of batteries would not make the units prone to catching fire, or exploding. However, the leakage could have presented problems during charging, the sources said.

It is unclear whether Apple has completely scrubbed Simplo of its list of battery suppliers. The company is also known to provide batteries for Apple’s MacBook Air and MacBook Pro laptops.
