Amazon is outdoing itself with the latest Kindle update for iOS platforms, adding a free-sample search, support for third-party dictionaries, a quick-reference guide for the Accessibility features, and more.

Kindle for iPhone and iPad version 3.9 is a major update which brings the ability to access the existing Library Search to sift through Amazon's catalog of millions of Kindle books and download free samples from the app.

For users who prefer to use their own dictionaries, you can now set up Kindle to use medical, legal, or other translation references. Any dictionary you download to the device will automatically appear in the selection list, says Amazon.

Accessibility gestures for blind and visually impaired users are now detailed under the FAQ section in the Settings pane. All supported languages are available.

Other additions include an Instant Cover Loader and bug fixes/stability improvements.
