Instagram 4.2.1 is out with “Performance updates and other improvements,” according to Burbn. Customers have been complaining about crashes and pictures disappearing.

A bunch of issues with Instagram 4.2 have prompted Burbn Inc. to deploy an incremental software update packing performance tweaks and other improvements.

Customers leaving reviews on the iTunes App Store indicate that the app has been suffering from several crashing bugs, as well as from a flaw which caused photos to become invisible.

The new 4.2.1 release is too fresh to sport any user reviews but, considering that no one has posted a single complaint, the update probably fixes all the reported issues.

Instagram requires iOS 6 but it is also tailored for iOS 7 use, mainly thanks to a new flat design (which not all users seem to appreciate).
