Still running Mac OS X Leopard and looking for a change of scenery? You can take Apple up on their offer to upgrade your Mac to Snow Leopard for free! Here’s how.

Even though Apple’s offer is aimed at getting you hooked on the (allegedly) coal-powered iCloud, you can follow only the steps that get you a free copy of Snow Leopard, and then decide whether or not you wish to shell out the 30 bucks for OS X Lion and iCloud. The only requirement is a MobileMe account.

All you need to do is visit Apple’s MobileMe site, enter your credentials and fill out your mailing address. Apple will send you a brand new copy of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard on DVD. If you want to take them up on the second part of the offer, meaning to upgrade to OS X Lion and use iCloud, an additional $30 will be required on your end. You'll also have to meet some hardware requirments.
