Aero-Gear makes durable sapphire crystal screens for smartphones, and the company decided it was high time to get some attention.

Although Apple works with GT Advanced (bought them, really) to get its own sapphire for the upcoming iPhone 6, Aero-Gear wants to get the word out that it too can make strong, durable glass for smartphones.

In this one-minute clip they put together for their YouTube followers, the company took an iPhone 5, equipped it with a sapphire crystal screen and scraped a huge concrete block across the phone to prove that the glass remains unscathed.

The footage can’t be declared 100% scientific because, at some points in the video the phone is hidden away from view. However, there’s no reason to believe it’s a fake. Watch and see what to expect from the up and coming iPhone 6.
