Aspyr has finally confirmed the launch date of the critically acclaimed BioShock Infinite for Macintosh computers, and the game is immediately available for pre-order. The system requirements are also official.

The biggest video games publisher for the Mac, Aspyr Media, plans to roll out Bioshock Infinite for OS X on August 29, according to a poster on the company’s GameAgent site.

Over at GameAgent you can already pre-order your own copy. It’ll set you back $59.99 / € 44.99 / £ 39.99, so you’ll need to carefully scroll through the system requirements first, just in case you might need an upgrade in memory or in… well, just memory, because Macs aren’t very upgradable like that.

You’ll need OS X 10.8.4 (Mountain Lion) or later, Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.2 GHz, 4 GB of RAM, 30 GB of disk space (GameAgent says 30 MB but even Mortal Kombat II takes up more space than that), and one of the following video cards: Nvidia GeForce 640M, Radeon HD 3870, Intel HD 4000, or better with 512 MB of video memory.
