Google has announced a new mapping experience for iOS customers, with a specific focus on iPad owners. A new version of the Google Maps iOS client is rolling out internationally, delivering native iPad support and a range of new features.

The new app iteration promises to make exploring the world and getting to the places you love a lot faster and easier.

Building on the design released exclusively iPhone last December, the new Google Maps iOS client will enhance search and navigation features, “and it's the first dedicated app for Android tablets and iPads,” says the search giant.

Latitude is being phased out, while Offline and My Maps are getting a few enhancements and tweaks. A lowdown of the new features is available at the official Google blog.

When the new Google Maps makes its debut in the iOS App Store, you’ll be able to grab it at the link below.
