Google Chrome testers who don’t mind rocking buggy versions of the popular web surfing app can download Chrome 36.0.1985.18 Dev, the newest alpha-grade build that contains the usual round of fixes and code corrections (and perhaps just as many new bugs).

Version 36.0.1985.18 is made official on the Chrome Releases blog, as usual. Matthew Yuan, of the team handling the Dev channel, writes: “The Dev Channel has been updated to 36.0.1985.18 for Mac, Linux and Windows. A full list of changes is available in the SVN log.”

People following the link to the full release notes learn that Chrome 36 Dev includes code tweaks to avoid invoking copy constructor at Chrome startup.

If you don’t like a browser that crashes or hangs, or simply doesn’t display the Internet for you properly, then you don’t have any business using Google Chrome 36. Until it reaches beta status (which also isn’t recommended for general use), Chrome Dev 36 should only be used by avid testers.

The requirements haven’t changed, meaning you’ll need just over 200 MB of space to download and install the browser and at least 512 MB of RAM for a decent experience.
