14 DAY TRIAL // Flixster Inc. has recently discovered that its newest iOS update has been ill-fated, in that users were having trouble hearing the audio in their movies with the mute-switch on.
Normally, most apps mute their own sound when you flip on the mute (hardware) switch on your iPhone or iPad. But for Flixster users, apparently that’s preposterous. So the developer made a few code alterations to keep these people happy.
According to the release notes accompanying version 6.7.1, “In the previous update, there was a bug that caused sound to fall off if the device is muted. We fixed that bug. Now you will hear sound even if the iPhone/iPad is muted (using the side switch).”
I wouldn’t call it a bug per se, but there you have it. In case you thought there was something wrong with your downloaded movies or the iDevice itself, you were wrong.
